Last Friday, Senator John Albers secured the Republican nomination for State Senate District 56. Following the conclusion of candidate qualification last week, no other Republicans qualified to run for District 56, which now includes portions of Cherokee, Cobb, and Fulton counties after 2020 Census-based redistricting.
“I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to again serve as our Republican nominee,” Senator Albers said. “My record reflects that I have stood up for Republican values like limited government, lower taxes, and securing the integrity of our elections, and I am pleased that my fellow Republicans have recognized that.”
Senator Albers now advances to the November general election. Election Day is set for November 8.
